Bringing historic holiday cheer to Alexandria this weekend.

Bring centuries of Holiday Cheer to your celebrations this year. The Historic Alexandria Candlelight Tour, Alexandria’s premier historic holiday event, blends three centuries of history, food, and drink through special tastings, seasonal decorations, period music, and tours highlighting festive traditions through time.
Four of Old Town Alexandria’s finest historic sites will welcome guests on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13. Each location will feature period-appropriate holiday decorations as well as a food and drink item. This year’s tour includes Carlyle House Historic Park (121 N. Fairfax Street), Gadsby’s Tavern Museum (134 North Royal Street), Lloyd House (220 North Washington Street) and Lee-Fendall House (614 Oronoco Street). Tour times are Saturday, Dec. 12, 6—9 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13, 3—6 p.m.
The sites may be visited in any order and stationed guides are present at each location. A free shuttle is provided running in a continuous loop between the sites. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (ages 65 and older) and active military members, and $5 for children (ages 6-17). Tickets for this event can be purchased online at http://shop.alexandriava.gov. Additional adult beverages available for purchase at select sites.
