Toastique Sets Opening Date For Alexandria
Add gourmet toast to Alexandria's dining options with the opening of Toastique in April.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Gourmet toast and juice bar Toastique has set the opening of its Alexandria location for Wednesday, April 10. A ribbon cutting with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5. The business at 1605 King Street will be Toastique's second location.
The idea stemmed from the toasts Brianna Keefe made as a former college athlete. Keefe developed specialty toasts from the original avocado toast, creating balanced meals of carbs, vegetables, fats, and proteins to boost energy while on the go. Toastique's menu includes a selection of toasts piled with toppings, cold pressed juices, smoothies and bowls. Ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal.
Toastique received approval in January from the Department of Zoning and Planning. A city staff report supported the proposal, stating, "The restaurant would bring a new healthy food concept to the area which would likely encourage additional activity to the tenant space, previously occupied by a commercial printer."
