ALEXANDRIA, VA—You may have seen Toastique at The Wharf in DC. This spring, it will be expanding across the river in Alexandria. The gourmet toast and juice bar received approval in January from the Department of Zoning and Planning to open at 1605 King Street.

The city's staff report says "the restaurant would bring a new healthy food concept to the area which would likely encourage additional activity to the tenant space, previously occupied by a commercial printer."

Toastique's menu includes a selection of toasts piled with toppings, cold pressed juices, smoothies and bowls. According to a city staff report, Toastique plans to have 21 indoor and 10 outdoor seats.
