Tree Lighting To Kick Off Christmas In Alexandria
Alexandria won't waste any time to kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting after Thanksgiving.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The City of Alexandria will kick off the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting at Market Square Friday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. All residents are welcome to the free event.
The event will begin with a welcome from the town crier Benjamin Fiore-Walker and remarks by Mayor Allison Silberberg. Residents can then get into the holiday spirit with a performance by Santa's Frosty Follies from the Metropolitan Fine Arts Center.
Then, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance to light the tree with the mayor. Families can visit Santa afterward while enjoying holiday tunes from the Virginia Bronze Resonances Handbell Ensemble.
