Truck Hits King Street Metro Bridge, Intersection Reopens

Metro assessed the bridge at the King Street Metro after the crash and found no major damage.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A truck hit a Metro bridge near the King Street station Wednesday, temporarily halting traffic at the intersection.

The truck got stuck under the overpass in the 1900 block of King Street, which is at the Diagonal Road, King Street and Daingerfield Road intersection. Metro evaluated the overpass and determined the crash caused no major damage to the structure. There were no reported injuries.

Alexandria Police temporarily blocked the intersection during the investigation. The intersection was reopening as of 11:44 a.m.
