VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital To Halt Overnight Emergency Care
The animal hospital cited a lack of veterinarians able to work overnight.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria pet owners needing emergency care during the night hours will need to look elsewhere soon. VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital said its overnight emergency services will close, effective Monday, Feb. 24.
"Despite all of our efforts, we have been unable to hire able and willing veterinarians to work the difficult overnight hours," the animal hospital said in a Facebook post to clients.
The animal hospital will continue to offer urgent care services during the regular practice hours. The hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday. VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital hopes to expand general practice hours on weekdays and weekends.
