Water Main Break Affecting Traffic On Major Alexandria Road

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Emergency repairs on a major route for Alexandria drivers are impacting rush hour traffic Wednesday evening.

A water main break on North Washington Street prompted the emergency work. A single lane of southbound North Washington Street, between Oronoco Street and Pendleton Street is closed. Two southbound lanes of North Washington Street remain open. All northbound lanes of North Washington Street are open.

Repairs will continues through rush hour. Drivers are asked to find alternate routes and avoid the area in both directions due to rush hour traffic implications.
