Weather Advisory Tuesday Night in Alexandria Area

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory until midnight Tuesday.

Tides could be a foot to a foot and a half above normal, according to the NWS alert.

Minor tidal inundation is expected in sensitive locations around the National Harbor, according to the NWS. High tide is expected at 9:02 p.m. in the Washington Channel and 9:20 p.m. in Alexandria.

“A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore,” according to the NWS.
