Wheelchair-Bound Man Killed In Hit-And-Run, Henrico Police Seeking Suspect

The 65-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, where he might have been lying for hours.

HENRICO, VA – A 65-year-old man using a motorized wheelchair was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning at Echo Avenue and Nine Mile Road, Henrico County Police say.

According to police, the crash occurred sometime between 12:15 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. on Sunday. They say 65-year-old Larry Wilkerson of Henrico was crossing Echo Avenue when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. The driver left the area.

Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are looking for an early 2000s white Honda in connection with the crash. The car will likely have front passenger side damage and a missing headlight.
