When Alexandria Pools Will Open For Summer 2019

ALEXANDRIA, VA—As warm weather begins to stick around, you may be ready for the first swim of the season. For many outdoor pools, you won't have to wait much longer.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 25, the start of Memorial Day Weekend and the unofficial start of summer nearly everywhere. That will be opening day for public pools in Alexandria and around the area.

The opening date applies to public pools. Check with individual private pools to see when they open.

Below are the public pools and hours for the 2019 summer season:

Memorial Pool, 901 Wythe Street (Pool opening delayed)

• May 25-Sept. 1: weekends 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
• May 28-June 18: weekdays 4:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• June 19-Aug. 30: weekdays 10 a.m.-7:45 p.m.
• May 27 (Memorial Day), July 4 and Sept. 2 (Labor Day): 10 a.m.-5:45 p.m.

Old Town Pool, 1609 Cameron Street

• May 25-Sept. 8: weekends 12 p.m.-6:45 p.m.
• May 28-June 18: weekdays 4:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• June 19-Aug. 16: weekdays 12 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• Passholders Only: June 24–July 31: 6 a.m.-7:30 a.m.
• Aug. 19-Aug. 30: weekdays 4:30-7:45 p.m.
• Sept. 3-Sept. 6: Tuesday-Friday 6 a.m.-7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• May 27 (Memorial Day), July 4 and Sept. 2 (Labor Day): 10 a.m.-5:45 p.m.

Warwick Pool, 3301 Landover Street

• May 25-Sept. 1: weekends 11 a.m.-6:45 p.m.
• May 28-June 18: weekdays 4:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• June 19-Aug. 16: weekdays 12 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
• Aug. 19-Aug. 30: weekdays 4:30-7:45 p.m.
• May 27 (Memorial Day), July 4 and Sept. 2 (Labor Day): 10 a.m.-5:45 p.m.

Great Waves Waterpark: 4001 Eisenhower Avenue

• May 25-June 17: weekends/holidays 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
• May 28-June 17: Fridays 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
• June 18 - June 19: 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
• June 20 – Sept. 2: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
