Whim Pop Opens Tuesday on King Street
The cafe will sell frozen popsicles made with real fruit.
It’s officially summer and that means one thing: Time to have a little fun and keep cool!
That’s where a new business in Old Town Alexandria comes in: Whim Pop, selling a variety of frozen popsicles, opens Tuesday at 1309 King St. The cafe will celebrate its grand opening Saturday at 11 a.m., according to a post on its Facebook page.
The space was formerly occupied by Le Tastevin Fine Wines.

Owner Maria Romano first began selling her popsicles in 2012 as a vendor at a farmer’s market in Oakton. She has now branched out across Northern Virginia, selling frozen treats in farmers markets in Reston, Herndon, Huntington, McLean, Old Town, Oak Marr, Mount Vernon, Mosaic District and more.
