Organizers expect strong spillover to nearby Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News, as visitors pair the festival with beaches, historic sites, and other fall events across the Virginia Peninsula.
   

• VB, Norfolk reservoirs short 'at least 17 inches' of rain as drought conditions persist (wavy.com) — Poquoson residents are being asked to voluntarily conserve water as regional reservoirs sit well below normal levels after a year of below-average rainfall. Along with neighboring cities and counties, the city is urging people to cut back on nonessential uses like car washing and half-full dishwashers so supplies remain stable and mandatory restrictions can be avoided.
