2 RA Board Candidates Withdraw From Consideration For Open At-Large Seat
Two of the original five people who put their names forward to fill the vacant seat on the RA Board have dropped out.

RESTON, VA — As of 9 a.m on Thursday, only three candidates remain in the campaign to fill the at-large seat on the Reston Association Board of Directors. The board is scheduled to pick a new director at its Thursday night meeting.
Earlier this week, Patch reported that five people had put themselves forward for consideration to fill the board seat vacated at the end of November by Glenn Small: Trevor Grywatch, Shawn Kenney, Jeff Spurrier, Allen Schissler, and Travis Johnson.
On Tuesday, Kenney withdrew his name from contention and on Thursday morning Schissler followed suit. That leaves only Grywatch, Spurrier and Johnson on the ballot, according to RA spokesman Mike Leone.

Choosing a new director is on the agenda of the board's monthly meeting, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The meeting can be viewed live on Zoom (Meeting ID: 878 8497 5372; Passcode: 590631) and on RA's YouTube channel, where video of the meeting will be posted.
In addition to the at-large vacancy board members will be voting on Thursday night, RA put out a call for candidates in early December to run for one of the five board positions that will be determined during the month-long election in March.

The at-large director chosen on Thursday night will fill the remainder of Small's first year on the board and then will have the option to put their name on the March ballot to complete the final two years of Small's term.
