Firefighters Extinguish Reston House Fire That Leaves 5 Occupants Displaced

HERNDON, VA — Five people who were displaced by a Wednesday night house fire in the Franklin Farms area are receiving assistance from the Red Cross, according to a post on the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department's official Twitter account.

Fire units responded for the report of a fire in the 3200 block of Autumn Hill Court in Herndon, according to a 6:24 p.m. Twitter post. Firefighters worked to extinguish a porch fire the had extended to the home's second floor. The fire was reported out at 7:08 p.m.

Five occupants were able to safely exist the home, although they have been displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported.
