RESTON, VA — An accused shooter is in custody on felony charges after a fatal shooting at a Reston Gold's Gym.
Steve Taehee Ha, 43, of Chantilly was arrested Tuesday night and charged in the death of 31-year-old Hyung Joon Choi of Reston, Fairfax County Police said.
Authorities charged Taehee Ha with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
A report of someone being shot at Gold's Gym, 11830 Sunrise Valley Drive, was made about 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Choi suffered upper-body trauma, according to Capt. Kent Bailey, a police spokesman. Choi was taken to an area hospital, where he was declared dead.
"Both the victim and the suspect were working out in the gym, when the suspect approached the victim, assumed a targeted stance and shot the victim," Bailey said at a news conference on Tuesday.

Detectives quickly identified Taehee Ha as a suspect, according to a police blog post, although they have not said if the two men knew each other or what might have led up to the shooting. No other details were released.
