Reston Contractor Plans 69 Layoffs After Wireless Contract Work Ends (patch.com) — A Reston-based tech contractor, TekSynap, has notified Virginia officials it may cut up to 69 positions in three phases as a major wireless subcontract winds down, though most affected staff work remotely nationwide. 5. More oppose residential property on golf course (fairfaxtimes.com) — A proposal to build 306 townhomes on part of Reston National Golf Course has galvanized Reston groups who argue it violates the Reston Master Plan, PRC zoning, and Robert E. Simon's open-space vision. Rescue Reston, Reston Citizens Association, and Reston Association are urging county leaders to reject the plan, citing environmental impacts, precedent for future development, and threats to Reston's character.
