Reston Town Center North Plan Approved; Buildings Still Need Board Review (patch.com) — Supervisors have approved the overall framework to redevelop Reston Town Center North, paving the way for a new Reston Regional Library, a replacement homeless shelter with supportive housing, and a large Central Green park. Individual buildings still need future board review, but the vote enables a key land swap with Inova and sets the street, park, and housing layout.
3. Reston-based data analytics firm to add 75 jobs (virginiabusiness.com) — A Reston-based tech firm, Data Machines, is expanding its headquarters on Sunset Hills Road and creating 75 new jobs, backed by state workforce support. The veteran-founded company specializes in AI and cybersecurity, and its growth underscores Reston's role in national security technology and Northern Virginia's tech economy.
4. Man Who Stabbed Dog 14 Times Said It 'Needed To Be Put Down': MD Authorities (patch.com) — A Reston man has been charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty after Frederick County, Maryland deputies say they found him covered in blood near a dog that had been stabbed multiple times. Authorities allege he admitted to stabbing the animal, claiming he needed to put it down. Investigators are seeking additional information from anyone who may have seen the incident.
