2. 200 Bechtel jobs in Reston affected by TerraPower split (virginiabusiness.com) — About 200 Bechtel positions in Reston are flagged for possible cuts after the company ended its partnership with nuclear firm TerraPower, though Bechtel now expects few actual layoffs. The Reston-based engineering giant has issued required WARN notices but says it plans to redeploy many affected employees to other nuclear and infrastructure projects worldwide as Natrium work winds down.
3. Local leaders set legislative priorities (fairfaxtimes.com) — Fairfax County leaders are shaping their General Assembly wish list, with Reston's Citizens Association pushing hard against any casino proposals and backing a unified Virginia Gaming Commission.
