
Over 50 local small business owners shared ideas on marketing strategies for small businesses in a seminar at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Reston May 31.
The seminar, organized by Laura B. Poindexter of Queenb Creative, delved into key marketing strategies small businesses need in order to grow. Topics included differentiation, market segmentation and targeting, messaging, and the use of social media channels and electronic marketing to communicate effectively with target audiences.
In addition to Poindexter, speakers included James Lawson of The Capital Coaching Group and Danny Vargas of VARCom Solutions. The event was emceed by Joe Clarke, district director of SCORE.

A wrap-up Q&A session included the speakers and Willard King, co-owner of Sunset Hills Automotive, describing how the techniques covered in the seminar helped his business grow.
