Best Restaurants For Lunch In Reston: Patch Readers

Reston, VA — Patch recently published a survey asking its readers to share their recommendations for the best places in Reston to take a visitor to for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Twelve Reston foodies shared their favorite restaurants and recommendations for what to order. The response to our survey was so great that we've decided to split the results into several stories.

We've already published readers' favorite places to go for breakfast and now we're going to look at what lunch spots they recommend.

Survey respondents mentioned 10 different restaurants to go for lunch in Reston, praising them for their service, the scope of their menus and their signature dishes.

Here's what foodies from Reston gave as their reasons for recommending their favorite place to eat lunch.

Ariake ...

• "Reasonable prices for good service and very good sushi," Su said.

Cafe Montmartre ...

"Get the spring rolls to start with a pate sandwich," said Emily Gravolet. "And a Vietnamese iced coffee! So good! Incredibly kind staff that offer to add a Polaroid photo of your party to their wall. So great with kids, too."

Cafesano Reston ...

• Reston78 recommended Cafesano Reston and ordering the Signature Salad for a great lunch.

Cooper's Hawk ...

• "I would take my visitor to Cooper's Hawk so that we could sit at the bar and eat blackened bleu skirt steak salads with a glass of blanc de blanc," said Grace. "In Reston's vicinity, I'd choose Umai or Nunu's Thai in Herndon for spicy duck basil because the food is solid and the owner is wonderful. It's hard to find non-generic ethnic cuisine in Reston."

Glory Days ...

• Barbara Ewald recommended going to the Glory Days at Northpoint for lunch and ordering a burger.

Jackson's Mighty Fine Food and Lucky Lounge ...

• "Great all around food," Wallace said. "Steak Frites, Spicy Tuna Rolls/California Rolls, Short Smoked Salmon."
• "Without question the best lunch menu in Northern Virginia, ranging from terrific salads to full course options," said Ray Ritchey. "My favorite spot is one of the tables at the outside bar, watching people strolling thru RTC. My favorites are the sushi, the roasted chicken salad, and if really hungry, the daily fish specials."
• "It gets crowded at dinner time, so lunch you can usually avoid the crowd," said Patrick Prior. "The Slow Roasted French Dip. Usually have to convince myself not to order another."

Kalypso's Sports Tavern ...

• "Kalypso on Lake Anne at Washington Plaza because the terrace overlooking Lake Anne has a charming atmosphere and view, and you’d never guess you’re so near to RTC," said Michael Blevins. "A chefs salad because this isn’t a gourmet restaurant, but it can make a good salad."

• K. Hill recommended ordering pizza and more at Matchbox.

Nando's Peri-Peri

• Grandmama recommended taking a visitor to Nando's Peri-Peri and ordering wings dipped in sugar-free, carb-free sauce.

Red's Table ...

"Crab dip, aged burger, mussels, side of bread," said Alex. "The bread is fantastic, dipping it in the mussel juice is delicious, and the burger is excellent."
