Dead Man Discovered By Woman Walking Her Dog In Reston: Police

A woman walking her dog early Tuesday morning in the woods behind an apartment complex in Reston discovered the body of a man.

RESTON, VA — A woman walking her dog around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, discovered a man laying on a path in a wooded area behind the apartments in the 12000 block of Grey Wing Square in Reston, according to a FCPD spokesman. The woman immediately contacted police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who was laying on the ground and suffering from trauma to the upper body, according to the spokesman. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman told WUSA9 reporter Megan Rivers that the victim appeared to be a Hispanic man in his 20s, whom they believed lived nearby.

Analysts were still investigating the woods and canvassing the neighborhood at around 12:15 p.m. In addition, they were seeing if there was any surveillance footage that could provide more information about the incident.

The Office of the Chief Medical examiner removed the body and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Detectives are piecing together the timeline to determine when the victim died, according to the spokesman.
