Burning School Bus On Fairfax County Parkway Extinguished: Report
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel extinguished a burning school bus that was traveling on the Fairfax County Parkway midday Thursday.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel extinguished a burning school Thursday morning on the Fairfax County Parkway in the Reston area, according to a social media post.
Fire and Rescue units were dispatched around 11 a.m. for the report of a fire on a school bus in the southbound lanes of the Fairfax County Parkway near the intersection of Fox Mill Road.
Arriving on the scene, fire crews observed smoke and fire coming from the bus, according to a department spokeswoman. It took crews about 5 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

The Fairfax County Public Schools driver was able to exit the bus before fire personnel arrived on the scene. The bus did not have any other occupants at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
