Child Sexual Abuse Charges Filed Against TX Band Teacher: Report
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Fairfax County after he drove 1,500 to have sex with a teenage girl, according to news reports.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested a band teacher Friday after he traveled 1,500 miles from Texas to have sex with someone he believed was a teenage girl, according to news reports.
David Ortiz, 32, began engaging in sexual conversations with a person whom he thought was a teenage girl, but was actually an officer with FCPD's Child Exploitation Unit, according to Fox5 News.
Ortiz, who is a high school band teacher in the United Independent School District, arranged to meet the girl during a planned trip to Fairfax County on Jan. 10.

Two days later, police arrested Ortiz, charging him on multiple counts, including production of child sexual abuse material and attempted indecent liberties with a minor, Fox5 reported. He remains in custody without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
