Concealed Weapon Charge Filed Against Reston Man: Police
Police charged a Reston man on Aug. 31 for possessing a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon within a school zone.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police charged a Reston man with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a controlled substance within a school zone on Aug. 31, according to the weekly crime report.
Officers responded around 2:36 a.m., for the report of a man trespassing on private property in the 2000 block of Sanibel Drive. A preliminary investigation revealed that Shujaat Qamar, 30, of Reston was unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, according to police. The officers also found that Qamar was in possession of multiple rounds of ammunition and a large amount of marijuana, as well as materials related to the sale of marijuana.
Police charged Qamar with carrying a concealed weapon, distribution of marijuana less than 1 ounce, possession of controlled substance within a school zone, and carrying a loaded weapon within a specified locality.
