Donald Trump Visits Virginia, Shares Criticisms of American Trade

Trump linked a discount he scored on a winery he bought in Charlottesville to his negotiating savvy and how that could benefit his campaign.

Donald Trump made a stop at his namesake winery in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Tuesday, and managed to use the visit to promote his savvy as a negotiator, according to multiple media reports.

The candidate for the Republican presidential nomination was visiting the newly renovated Trump Winery.

Trump’s son, Eric shared a photo from opening of the hotel on Twitter.

Trump is currently seeking the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential election, and according to the Washington Post he linked the $6.5 million discount he received on his winery (while competing with higher bids) to America’s need for better negotiators when making trade deals with other countries.

The Post also noted Trump’s Charlottesville visit and address to a crowd of supporters came only hours after President Obama announced a nuclear agreement with Iran, and that Trump was rather critical of the deal.

Local CBS affiliate WUSA noted Trump said America needs to “use our best negotiators” when striking deals with other countries, and that he added “we need to take back our jobs.” The second remark was aimed primarily at Mexico and China, two countries the Post said Trump noted when speaking in Charlottesville.
