Course Description:
Join Maria Garre for this weekend intensive of Fluid Power, created by Shiva Rea for a new perspective for teaching Prana Flow: energetic Vinyasa Offering an embodied sense of fluid anatomy, energetic concepts within Tantra and Ayurveda connect this module presents a deeper integrated approach to fluid movement within Vinyasa Yoga. Throughout the weekend we will immerse and enjoy dynamic mandala-based sadhana sessions, sequencing labs, teaching/cueing practicums, and new teaching methodologies.
Throughout the weekend you will:
● Development of class openings and mini-vinyasas for beginning and mixed-level classes that cultivate wave motion and the fluid body.
● Mandala Namaskar sequences, Dancing Warrior 1008 and Jala Namaskar as fluid variations offering both multi-dimensional movement and sahaja-based asana.
● Energy based Prana Flow® sequences for developing your own effective and creative flows for teaching – Mandala-based sequencing.
● Integration of mantra, pranayama, chanting and music to release the vibratory song of the body.
● Understanding of the fluid/pranic body for balancing and healing the stresses of life in the twenty-first century.
● Accessible exploration of yogic philosophy through the “Radiance Sutras” to deepen the living connection to prana-shakti, life force.
● Micro-meditations to stay connected to the flow while living yoga
Maria Garre, M.Ed, e-ryt 500
Maria currently teaches for both Shiva Rea's Samudra School for Living Yoga and the Dr. Vasant Lad's Ayurvedic Institute. Devoted to the path of learning and teaching since 1993, she has dedicated more than twelve years in the study of Prana Flow Yoga, created by Shiva Rea, Ayurveda; alongside academic graduates studies in Biomedical Science, Education and Philosophy. Her teachings offer a grounded, clear yet dynamic and transformative approach to living, being, and embodying Yoga. Maria has completed programs at both the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and the world-renowned Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad. She spends much of the year leading adventurous and cultural retreats India. In addition, she has written several articles for local and international publications, including Yoga Journal, and has been a featured presenter at Vancouver and Toronto Yoga Conferences.
