"Inspirations" Art Exhibit - Reston Community Center

Inspirations
Norma Ruiz Morris, Mixed Media Artist
Margaret Leigh Morris, Photographer
Exhibit Dates:  June 18 through July 31

Norma Ruiz Morris and her daughter, Maggie, showcase their combined talents through mixed media paintings and photography in this summer exhibit.  Norma, a transplanted Texan, has been inspired by the park-like setting of Reston during the 12 years she has lived here.  “My appreciation for nature is reflected in my paintings through line and vibrant colors."   Norma worked as an account executive at major newspapers in Texas and California and currently works as an art specialist at Hunters Woods Elementary.

Margaret Leigh Morris (Maggie) has been recognized for her excellent photography by teachers at South Lakes High school and at VCU’s Art Foundation program, where she is now a student.  Maggie’s exhibit is a mixture of people and landscapes.  “Her work has a mature outlook; she has the gift of capturing moments of serenity and emotion through the lens of a camera,” says Norma, Maggie’s mother.
