Nnenna Freelon - Reston Community Center's CenterStage

Six-time GRAMMY Award nominee Nnenna Freelon is hailed as the “international voice of Jazz.”

She has shared the stage or recordings with Jessye Norman, Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Take 6, Al Jarreau, the Count Basie Orchestra and more.

She has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, and all over the globe.

Freelon will visit the CenterStage as a part of the Reston Community Center’s 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration.

Nnenna Freelon returns to Reston to give a keynote address for our MLK Day Celebration and performs this electrifying concert in the evening.

Members of the South Lakes High School chorus will join Ms. Freelon on stage for one memorable number to cap off a full day of service and celebration.
