Fairfax County Fire And Rescue One Of The Busiest In The United States: Report

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Firehouse Magazine has named the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department one of the busiest such departments in the entire country.

FCFD placed in the top 50 in several categories for 2016, including 31st busiest with 100,712 calls for assistance last year. Fire Station 11, Penn Daw, was the 36th busiest station in the country with 11,256 calls.

Firehouse Magazine also named Rescue Squad 426 (Edsall Road) as the 41st busiest Heavy Rescue unit with 1,733 calls, and HazMat 440 (Fairfax Center) placed 19th among Hazardous Materials units.

Finally, EMS Officer 404 is the 39th busiest such unit with 1,808 calls.
