Free Donuts Near Reston - Here's How To Get Some

HERNDON, VA — Next Friday is National Donut Day, and a Herndon donut shop will be handing out free donuts to celebrate.

Duck Donuts is giving customers a free donut of their choice with any purchase on June 2. In addition, your receipt will also have a "Buy One Get One Free 1/2 Dozen" redeemable until Aug. 31.

Duck Donuts, which has dozens of locations in the eastern United States, has a shop at 300 Elden Street in Herndon.

“National Donut Day is one of Duck Donuts’ favorite holidays to celebrate with our customers and throughout the community,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and owner of Duck Donuts Franchising Company LLC, in a statement. “This year, we’re excited to give our customers the opportunity to not only commemorate the day in-stores, but also on Facebook, through our ‘12 Days of Donuts’ contest, offering our fans the chance to win our famous donuts.”

National Donut Day was established back in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I, according to the statement.
