Herndon Man Charged In Reston Woman's Death

Fairfax County Police have charged a Herndon man with second degree murder in connection with the death of a Reston woman.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested a Herndon man and charged him with second degree homicide in connection with the June 22 death of 29-year-old Maryam Ali Mohammed Al Jaberi of Reston, according to a police release.

Officers from the Reston District Station arrested Ball Salim Ahmed Ball, 24, of Herndon. Police say he was in a relationship with Al Jaberi that began earlier in the year. Ball is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.

Officers from the Reston District Station responded around 6:30 p.m., on June 22, to the 11000 block of Great Owl Circle, after Al Jaberi's landlord reported finding her deceased in the basement of the home she rented from him. Responding officers noticed suspected trauma to Al Jaberi's upper body. Following an examination Tuesday morning, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death as a homicide.
