Last Weekend for Many Reston Association Pools

Busy season winds down Aug. 22.

The end of August tends to be a no man's land in Reston.  Many families use the last two weeks of summer for vacation. The shopping centers are quiet, the roads less crowded.

Reston Association also sees a drop in attendance at the neighborhood pools. They  lose a significant portion of their 200-strong life guard staff, as college age guards return to school.

"This has been a long, hot summer, with very few 'rain out' days," said Laura Kowalski, RA Acquatics Manager. "Our pools have been extremely busy all season."
