Major Backups on Fairfax County Parkway | Reston Rush Hour Report

As a new feature, we're providing Reston residents with a quick rush hour report in the mornings to help get the day started off right.

RESTON, VA — Traffic is relatively clear throughout Reston Thursday morning as of 8:17 a.m., but there are some backups on Fairfax County Parkway.

No accidents have been reported, but heavy volume is causing delays on northbound lanes of the Fairfax County Parkway south of the toll road, and in the southbound lanes north of the toll road.

There's also a patch of major traffic on the Reston Parkway headed northbound just south of the toll road.

The toll road has backups headed westbound, but things are looking clear in the eastbound lanes so far.

Herndon is relatively clear, except for one large backup on Sterling Road headed eastbound into town.

It's currently 73 degrees, but highs will reach 91 degrees in the area, with a 20 percent chance of rain over the course of the day.
