Marco's Pizza Franchisee Signs Deal To Open 8 More Locations In NoVA

Marco's Pizza signed a new eight-unit deal with local franchisee Michael Ghanem, who is already planning to open a Reston/Herndon location.

RESTON, VA — Marco's Pizza has signed a multi-unit agreement to bring eight new pizza restaurants to Northern Virginia by the end of 2025, according to a company release.

The agreement will add eight units to local franchisee Michael Ghanem's portfolio, which already includes a two-unit agreement with the company.

Ghanem recently opened his first Marco's Pizza location at 46515 Harry Byrd Highway in Sterling and is due to open a second location in the Reston/Herndon area in the first quarter of 2023. He and his team are already scouting out other locations in Leesburg, Sterling, Herndon, Reston, Arlington, Alexandria, and Mount Vernon as part of the eight-unit agreement.

"When we began our search for viable franchise opportunities, we were looking for one key factor in particular — the potential for growth," said Ghanem, in the release. "Marco's growth journey has been nothing short of remarkable and seeing the untapped potential in Northern Virginia, we knew it was an opportune time to join the brand and grow our portfolio. We feel confidently that with the support of the Marco's team and our drive to succeed as franchisees, we'll be able to actualize our goal of being the No. 1 Marco's operator in the Northeast market."

Currently, the only Marco's Pizza in Fairfax County is one that's open at 9027 Silverbrook Road in Fairfax Station, according the county's online permitting platform. No information was available about the Reston/Herndon location set to open in early 2023.

Another location will be opening soon in 10160 Fairfax Blvd. in Fairfax City, according to the company's website.

Italian-born Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco founded the first Marco's Pizza in 1978. It has grown to 1,100 stores in 34 states, as well as Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
