Missing Man Last Seen In Herndon May Be In Roanoke Area: Police

UPDATED: Missing Herndon Man, 79, Found Dead After Week-Long Search

HERNDON, VA — Town of Herndon police are asking the public's help in locating 79-year-old Leonard Hugh Thompson, whose disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety, according to authorities.

Thompson was last seen at 7:30 p.m. on Elden Street in Herndon. He is believed to be currently on food in the Roanoke area, possibly near Troutville, according to police.

Police described Thompson as a white man, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 160 pounds. He has blue eyes and white hair.

No information was available about what clothes Thompson was wearing, but he wears glasses.
