Once a Startup, Savvy Apps Expanding in Reston with New Office Near Metro

The move to the new office was not only for more space but for proximity to the Metro to be more accessible to clients.

Reston may be on the opposite coast of the Silicon Valley, but that hasn’t stopped a local app development business from blossoming into one of the area’s more prominent businesses.

Savvy Apps was founded in 2009 with a similar backstory to many other tech startups. The company was formed by one man with a dream — current CEO Ken Yarmosh — who started the company from his home office and grew it from the ground up.

The business is now large enough to have a national footprint in the industry, previously working with large, national organizations like the NFL and PBS.

As the business expanded, so too did its workspace, culminating with its recent move into a Class-A office in Reston across from the Wiehle Reston-East Metro station at 1850 Centennial Park Drive, Suite 100, in Reston.

Not only is the Reston-based tech company making the most of Reston’s addition to the Metrorail system, it’s also transforming its workspace into a quarter-million-dollar modern workspace which can allow for app development using 21st century technology, as well as a place for traditional business practices to be conducted.

“Being next to the Metro is a strategic decision,” Yarmosh said. “We’ll be able to continue to attract those who enjoy the suburbs and walkability of Reston while also enticing candidates who solely rely on public transportation.”

In addition to flexing its muscles in the midst of impressive growth, the company said it plans to host meetups and workshops in its new office space, further connecting it with the Reston community.

As part of its growth, the company announced it is planning to hire up to six new employees as it spreads its wings throughout the region, thanks in large part to its proximity to the Metro.
