'One, Two, Tree' Model Chosen For 2024 Lake Thoreau Art Installation
South Lakes STEAM students vote on which sculpture they will be installing on the Lake Thoreau spillway in 2024.

RESTON, VA — Residents of Reston will soon be able to enjoy a new piece of public art on the Lake Thoreau spillway designed by students from South Lake high School's STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) Team
On Nov. 15, the STEAM Team presented 1o models of prospective designs to members of Public Art Reston and a group of professional artists, photographers, and architects. The committee narrowed down the models to three finalists.
STEAM Team members cast ballots, choosing "One, Two, Tree" as their design for the 2024 sculptural installation. From one angle, the 10-foot high structure will seem to be a single tree, but when viewed from another angle it will appear to be a forest.
