Oracle Planning Big Virtual Reality, AI Research Center in Reston: Report
Reston could soon become a battleground in the fight between tech giants for market supremacy.

RESTON, VA — One of the largest tech companies in the world has big plans for Reston.
Oracle is forming a "startup" to work on new technologies including virtual reality and artificial intelligence, and one of the two offices will be in Reston, according to a report.
Bloomberg reports that the company will open new centers in Reston as well as Denver to produce "cutting-edge" products, likely in attempt to gain an edge in an emerging market as huge rivals like Amazon, Google, and Facebook advance their own projects.

The move could put Reston at the center of a huge battle between tech giants for market supremacy in the red-hot world of artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Oracle is seeking to fill at least 50 positions between the two sites, according to the report.
"The mission of the organization and these two centers is to build and engineer cutting-edge solutions for our customers around cloud computing, big data analytics, mobile computing, internet of things, cybersecurity," the company said in a job posting.
