• Fairfax Board Approves Reston Town Center North Redevelopment Framework (patch.com) — Reston is a step closer to a new regional library, upgraded homeless shelter with supportive housing, and a large Central Green after Fairfax County supervisors approved the Reston Town Center North redevelopment framework. The plan lays out new streets, parks, and up to 1,000 homes while keeping individual building designs for future review, and also enables a key land swap between the county and Inova.
   

• NoVA Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Distribution Conspiracy (patch.com) — Residents should be aware that a man with a home in Reston has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute child sexual abuse material through an invitation-only online group. Federal investigators searched his Reston and San Jose residences, seizing devices that allegedly contained thousands of illegal videos, and he now faces a potential multi-year prison sentence and significant financial penalties.
   

• Nearly 30,000 Pounds Of Food Collected For Northern Virginia Students (patch.com) — A Reston-based nonprofit, Food For Neighbors, just mobilized more than 850 volunteers to collect nearly 30,000 pounds of food for middle and high school students across Northern Virginia. As it begins its 10th year, the group is asking more Reston-area households to join its Red Bag Program so local students can count on stocked school pantries throughout the year.
