• Fairfax County may restore dedicated high school crossing guards after budget cuts (wtop.com) — Fairfax County is moving to restore funding for high school crossing guards, a change Reston Supervisor Walter Alcorn strongly supports after safety concerns near South Lakes High School. Using carryover funds, the county may also add a new crosswalk and other safety upgrades, which could directly affect how Reston students get to school and how parents navigate drop-off and pickup.
