Skateboarder Dies From Injuries After Being Struck By 2 Cars On Hunter Mill Road
Fairfax County detectives investigated the scene early Tuesday morning of a fatal pedestrian crash on Hunter Mill Road in Oakton.

OAKTON, VA — Fairfax County Police identified 32-year-old David Yazdani of Oakton as the victim in the Monday night fatal pedestrian crash on Hunter Mill Road, according to a police blog post.
An investigation by detectives from FCPD's Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that around 10:29 p.m. on Monday Yazdani was riding an electric skateboard northbound in the 2600 block of Hunter Mill Road near Conejo Lane. Detectives believe Yazdani lost control of the skateboard and fell into the southbound lanes. Yazdani was struck first by a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe and then a 2007 Rav4, both of which were traveling southbound on Hunter Mill Road.

Yazdani was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. He is the 11th person killed in a pedestrian-related crash this year in Fairfax County.
The drivers of both the Hyundai and Rav4 remained on the scene. Police do not believe that alcohol or speed were involved in the crash.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online via Fairfax County Crime Solvers or by calling 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted using the Fairfax Crime Solvers app and texting "FCCS" and the message 847411. An anonymous that leads to an arrest is eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
