Pokemon GO Craze Strikes Reston Town Center

Users on Twitter reported tons of people wandering around Reston catching Pokemon over the weekend.

The arrival of Pokemon GO has created quite the nationwide sensation, and Reston has fallen victim to it in the last few days -- to the amusement of many in the area.

People flooded social media to report that players could be seen walking all around Reston Town Center looking for Pokemon on their phones, with one person even capturing a photo of someone setting up a lawn chair just to sit there and capture Pokemon at a hot spot.

Pokemon GO is a free-to-play augmented reality mobile game that allows users to play the wildly popular game that caught fire in the 1990s -- but with a catch. Players actually have to walk around the city to come across Pokemon or visit "Pokestops" that have free items like pokeballs and potions. When they come across a pokemon, it appears on their iPhone screen as if it were in the real world, and players flick a pokeball at the monster to capture it.
