Reston Association Fills At-Large Board Seat

Sridhar Ganesan will take the seat vacated by Eve Thompson, who resigned earlier this month.

RESTON, VA — The Reston Association Board of Directors has appointed longtime Reston resident Sridhar Ganesan to fill the At-Large board seat that was vacated by Eve Thompson when she resigned earlier this month for "personal reasons," the association said in a statement after its June 22 meeting.

Ganesan will hold the seat until the next board election in April 2018. Ganesan had been selected to serve as the RA's treasurer, and he will now fill both roles.

Ganesan is also the president of the Reston Citizens Association.

Thompson gave CEO Cate Fulkerson formal notice that she would resign in a June 6 email.

"It has been a privilege to serve the community that has given me so much," said Thompson in the statement. "A wonderful place to raise my family, a community of friends and neighbors and even a livelihood which is keeping me very busy these days. I believe that it is now best for me to focus my energies in an area where I can make a positive contribution."
