Reston Attempted Rape: Suspect Sketch Released By Police
Police say the man dragged a woman into the woods and attempted to sexually assault her before suddenly fleeing.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police have just released a sketch of a man who police believe dragged a woman into the woods on North Shore Drive earlier this week and attempted to rape her.
Police describe the man as 20-30 years old with a beard and "stalky" (presumably meaning stocky) build. He was wearing a red Washington Nationals baseball hat, and may have left the area in a silver or gray four-door vehicle.
"You are encourage to contact police if: You know anyone matching this description; You have seen this individual in your neighborhood; You have any information regarding this incident," the flyer states. "Remember, the information you have, regardless of how trivial you feel it may be, could be the critical link in solving this case."

Tipsters who provide information through Crime Solvers, which can be reached at 1-866-411-TIPS, are eligible for a cash reward. They are always anonymous.
Police say a 22-year-old woman was walking at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, in the 12000 block of North Shore Drive when a man she didn't know "approached her from behind, and dragged her into the nearby woods," according to a report by Fairfax County Police.

"Once in the woods the suspect tried to remove the victim’s clothing, but then left suddenly," the report states.
The address is near the intersection with Wiehle Avenue in the Tall Oaks neighborhood.
Police originally described the man as Hispanic, but the newly released flyer gives no indication of ethnicity.
