Reston Community Players Win 6 WATCH Awards, Including Best Actress in a Musical
Jennifer Lambert's portrayal of Rose in "Gypsy" won the admiration of WATCH judges at Sunday night's ceremony.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Reston Community Players had a strong night at the Washington Area Theatre Community Honors awards show Sunday night, taking home five awards for the musical "Gypsy," including best actress in a musical. RCP collected a sixth award for "Mary Poppins."
WATCH is an organization founded to recognize the "artistic and technical excellence in community theatre throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area," according to their website. The annual awards ceremony was held at The Birchmere in Alexandria on Sunday night.
Jennifer Lambert's portrayal of Rose in "Gypsy" for RCP earned her best lead actress in a musical honors, beating out four other nominees. Lambert also performed "Everything's Coming up Roses" during the ceremony, and got a standing ovation from many in the concert hall.
