Reston Company Expanding, Has Big Plans For The Area

Reston-based Avizia, a provider of telehealth products and services, plans to continue their expansion over the next five years.

RESTON, VA — A Reston-based provider of telehealth products and services announced it is investing to expand its presence in Fairfax County, creating 27 new jobs.

Avizia, which was founded in 2013, "combines a collaborative approach with a market-leading telehealth solutions suite for the continuum of care," according to a statement. The company's products and services are used in one in four U.S. hospitals.

“Avizia chose to operate in Fairfax County, and Reston specifically, because the tech community is extremely supportive,” CEO Mike Baird said in the statement. “CEOs in the community have a culture of collaboration and work together to support and grow the tech industry. We have the right location to attract from the city and the suburbs and our staff has great access to quality housing, office space and top schools.”

Baird noted that Avizia doubled its office space at its Reston headquarters in the past year, and he expects that trend to continue over the next five years.

“It is gratifying to see Avizia growing in Fairfax County because of the cutting-edge telehealth technology it is deploying and the important work it is doing to improve medical care,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, in the statement. “The success of Avizia here also is gratifying because it is an example of the growing health-related sector in a Fairfax County economy that is becoming more diversified every year.”
