Reston Homicide Victim Remains Unidentified
Fairfax County Police are still waiting for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the identity of the woman killed in Reston.
RESTON, VA — Six days after a woman was found dead in Reston, Fairfax County Police are still waiting for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm her identity, according to a post on FCPD's Twitter account. Police are withholding the victim's name until they receive confirmation and next of kin have been notified.
The tweet, which was posted just after noon on Wednesday, said that detectives continued to investigate the case and additional information would be shared as it became available.
FCPD officers responded around 6:39 a.m., on Sept. 17, for the report of woman lying on the ground in the area of Colts Neck Road and Glade Drive. The woman was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
