Reston Lake House Meeting Extended

Members will get an extra three hours to talk about the over-budget Lake House.

RESTON, VA — There's clearly a lot of interest from the community in the Reston Association's Lake House, and the Board of Directors meeting set for Thursday has been extended until much later into the evening to accommodate members who wants to discuss it.

The meeting was originally planned for 3 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 9 at RA headquarters, which are located at 120001 Sunrise Valley Drive. The meeting has been extended until 8 p.m., according to an updated statement from the Reston Association.

StoneTurn Group LLC was chosen by the Reston Association Board of Directors to conduct the review. RA members will have the opportunity to speak for up to three minutes if representing themselves, and five minutes if representing an organization.

The Lake House or Tetra property was purchased for $2.6 million in July 2015, but renovations pushed the property $430,000 over budget afterward, forcing cutbacks in other areas of the Reston Association's budget. StoneTurn will investigate how it happened to avoid a repeat in the future.

The Lake House is located at 11450 Baron Cameron Avenue, and is open to leasing.
