RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police identified 27-year-old Rene Alberto Pineda Sanchez of Reston as the man who was found dead by a woman walking her dog on a trail in Reston early Tuesday morning, according to a post on the FCPD blog.

Sanchez's body was found around 4 a.m., on a path in a wooded area behind the apartments in the 12000 block of Grey Wing Square.

On Tuesday, a police spokesman said the victim appeared to have suffered trauma to his upper body.

After performing an autopsy on Wednesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be a homicide and that Sanchez had been killed sometime overnight on Monday.
