Reston Substitute Teacher Tried To Meet Young Girl For Sex: Police

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police have arrested a Reston substitute teacher accused of arranging to meet a young girl to have sex.

Police arrested 22-year-old Hatim Khalid Abdelrahman in the Herndon area at around 6 p.m. on Monday. Police say Abdelrahman, a substitute teacher for the Fairfax County School System, "arranged to meet a young girl with the apparent intent of having sex," according to the police report.

He faces charges of solicitation of a minor and attempted indecent liberties.

Police ask anyone who thinks their child may have had inappropriate contact with Abdelrahman to call the Child Exploitation Unit at 703-246-7800 or submit a tip at fairfaxcrimesolvers.org.
